What age should my child be for Heirloom Portraits?
Once your child can hold their head up and sit with strong head control, they’re ready! The younger years, six months to six years, are really special to capture, but it’s never too late for a timeless photo. Every age deserves to be bottled up!
Where do Heirloom Portraits take place?
These sessions take place at my in-home studio in Lake Highlands or another Dallas studio.
How many images do we receive in the gallery?
Your booking includes five color and black & white images of your choice.
How do I pick my favorite images?
After our session, I will upload your unedited images to your online gallery. From there, you’ll select your five favorite (or more, if you choose to upgrade), to be edited. This way, you’ll get to pick your very favorite facial expressions from your little ones!
Do you offer prints?
Yes! I believe Heirloom Portraits are meant to live on your walls, and your family’s walls forever. I offer beautiful, museum-quality prints and framing options through your online gallery. Your session booking includes a print credit to give you the jumpstart you need!
What Should My Child Wear for Their Heirloom Portraits?
Picking the perfect outfit is essential for creating timeless, classic portraits you’ll cherish forever. After booking your session, you’ll receive a detailed session guide with all the tips you need—including direct links to make shopping easy and stress-free!
Do you travel for sessions?
Yes! If you’d prefer to do your session in-home within Dallas proper, I can travel to you for a small fee.
What If My Child Isn’t in the Mood?
I completely understand—little ones have their ups and downs! They might get hungry, tired, or just need a break, and that’s perfectly normal.
I know how to work with children’s natural rhythms to capture beautiful moments, even on their off days. My goal is to keep the session relaxed and enjoyable for everyone. If your child needs a moment, we’ll take it! When mom stays calm and patient, they'll feel it! It might feel like chaos, but we'll get those perfect photos!

Sessions can take place anywhere from immediately following a proposal to just a few days before the wedding. We’ve found that there isn’t a “good” or “bad” time to take your photos.

We check in about two months before the wedding to start chatting about timeline specifics, special details, family formal shot lists, special traditions and anything else we should know about your big day.
